Also tell me your thoughts about Elementary if you’ve seen it, so I can be prepared!!
-
Hello fellow Sherlock fans, sorry I’ve been away for so long, I’ve just had too much personal stuff in my life at the moment, and I’ve been working long hours at my job, which only gives me time to watch sherlock, not write about lol. I know that Elementary has aired recently, and I WILL be giving my review of it soon, so stay tuned! Since I really don’t want to watch Elementary however, haha, I’m probably going to either reivew the Great Mouse Detective or Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century first. Let me know which one you’d rather see!!

Anonymous asked: Just curious, how would you feel about a cat!Sherlock, certainly a cat is much more clever and dignified. Or is it just an all out moratorium on animals? What are your feelings on the animated film, The Great Mouse Detective? Is there somewhere on the human-to-beast anthropomorphic scale a character must fall to deserve the mantel of Sherlock. Would it help if it was voice by Cumberbatch? I'm very interested in your academic opinion.
I will be watching the Great Mouse Detective soon, once my personal life calms down a bit! As much as I love running this blog, I just don’t have time to watch EVERYTHING at the moment.
But like I said, I WILL be watching the Great Mouse Detective, but my hopes are not high. I just find that by making Sherlock an animal, they are degrading his character and Arthur Conan Doyle’s vision for him. There’s not room for him to GROW and ACT and we do not get to see his intellectual prowress in action as much. But I will try to keep an open mind! :)

Anonymous asked: For the love of God just watch Granada already so you can see the one true adaption in action.
The Granada series is so old though, and pretty boring without the graphics and film style of BBC Sherlock. I can’t give my whole review yet … but BBC Sherlock should always be recognized, even in competition with THAT!

gunslingerannie asked: What are your thoughts on Ron Howard's Holmes in the 1954/5 American-produced series?
I’ve never heard of this, could you expand? :)

Here’s the thing.
As much as I like Benedict Cumberbatch, I’m not one to white-knight him when he does something wrong. In fact, I don’t really white-knight him at all. I realize that he’s a person with flaws and don’t act like he’s a fucking god.
That being said, I’m aware that not everyone is a fan of him. People have their reasons for disliking him, and whether they make them private or public is their own business. After that autism thing last month, a lot of people expressed their distaste for him, and that is their choice, and we should respect that. He’s not perfect.
However, what I will not tolerate is people bashing his word based on a shady British article, with words of his being taken out of context. Hate the man all you want, but don’t put words in his mouth.
So let me decipher what Benedict was saying about this whole matter.
Benedict is tired of being typecast as rich white boys. Benedict would rather live in America if it meant he could have some more variety in his acting roles.
Benedict is not complaining about his privilege.
Benedict is not hating on the “posh” lifestyle.
Benedict is not “posh bashing.” What the fuck does that even mean?
He is an actor, and he was talking about acting.
There, I hope that was helpful, you little bastards! ♥
edit: Also, you are not cool for hating a celebrity! At all! That pretty much puts you in the same rung as Justin Bieber haters! Please stop tagging your hate uguu~~

Are you wearing any pants?

thesneakygoat asked: Well, I do agree that the TV is likely not (BBC) Sherlock's- I think he's far more likely to read or experiment when he's bored. Or you know, get high. But he does have a computer. John looked him up on the internet the night after their first meeting at Bart's and found his website. He also has an email in which his old friend was able to contact him with in the Blind Banker. He doesn't use his computer for research or entertainment, he uses it as advertising for his buisness and communication.
Well that’s fine! That’s a normal thing to do! But I think we can all agree he’s not the type to have Google as his homepage and just randomly Google people’s names, when instead he could be using his brilliant powers of deduction to discover all he needs to know about a person.

Anonymous asked: I can see you mean well, but your love for BBC Sherlock seems to be blinding you to any and all other adaptations. If you love the Sherlock Holmes stories so much, why are you so adverse to it? You appear narrow minded and judgemental, and your arguments are poorly thought out. I'm also guessing you're American. No Brit would idolize this country the way you seem to.
BBC Sherlock hasn’t blinded me, so don’t you DARE say that! What it’s done is open my eyes to how a Sherlock Holmes adaption SHOULD be done, and nothing else has quite matched up. I’m all for more adaptions! I just wished they were actually good.
Feel free to disagree with my arguments, but I put a lot of thought into them and work them out well. I’ve been taught how to argue and reason with the best, and I do try to bring that through in this blog.
SO WHAT? There’s nothing wrong with being American, no matter what the anti-American bullies on tumblr might say. So what if I idolize Britain? I’m sure they idolize America right back. It’s normal to like something you haven’t gotten used to more than those used to it.
